What it is for
Two hundred watts spread over five speeds with a turbo button on top covers the whole domestic range: stiff peaks in cream and egg whites at the top, folding batter and creaming butter and sugar at the bottom, soft dough on the hooks somewhere in between. It is not a stand mixer, and it will complain if you ask it to knead a stiff bagel dough. Common questions
Will it knead bread dough?
On the hooks, for soft and enriched doughs in modest batches, yes. Anything stiff and low in hydration — bagels, some sourdoughs — makes a 200W handheld motor work harder than it should, and that is a job for hands or a stand mixer.
Can the attachments be washed in a dishwasher?
The beaters, whisk and dough hooks all release and wash normally. The motor body gets wiped down with a damp cloth and goes nowhere near a sink.
When would I use the turbo button?
As a finishing burst rather than as a setting. Whip at a moderate speed until the mixture is nearly there, then hold turbo for the last few seconds to tighten the peaks — running flat out throughout overworks cream and eventually breaks it.
